|Summary:||Dear Friends of the AU Beef Teaching Herd, This inaugural sale brings some excitement as the herd has been evolving over the years but we have always had a strong core of good Angus cows built off of a donation from Dr. Stan Wilson and some cows I purchased years ago. The idea of an online sale began about a year ago when it became clear it was time to market more than just our Registered Angus cattle. We started our Beefmaster program in early 2010, early on they were utilized in building a great set of commercial females and the past few years we have been building up our numbers of purebred Beefmaster females. Most recently we received a donation of Fleckvieh semen and embryos from Indian Creek Cattle, we just weaned our first Fleckvieh x Angus heifer calves and really excited about our first full Fleckvieh heifer born in February. In the coming years expect to see some purebred Beefmaster, full Fleckvieh,
and Fleckvieh x Angus offered in "The Pride of the Plains" online sale. I have spent the last 13 years as manager of this herd building the cows to thrive on grass, be low input, and maternally oriented. We send all of our steers to the AU Meat Lab so I do keep carcass traits in mind but I believe in balance in terms of breeding- not going to extremes on EPD's, carcass traits, or frame size. I believe this is a great offering from some our best cow families and I wanted to focus on younger females that can make an impact in your program. I appreciate your interest in our genetics and thank you to all our past customers.

Selling 2 Embryos- bid price is per embryo, package price is 2 x bid price and buyer is responsible for the cost of shipping embryos. 804 was a long time producer- slick haired, easy keeping, very docile, and bigger in size than most In Focus. We purchased her dam (Foresight x Exacto 416) as a bred heifer in the Wellington Angus dispersal. Bank Note has made a name for himself in terms of performance, power, and maternal value, an exciting mating here!
